Is Your Well Water Safe

doh_logoPrivate well owners are responsible for ensuring that their well water is safe to drink. The Florida Department of Health strongly recommends that private well water is tested for bacteria and chemicals at least annually. It is simple, affordable, and a great way to assure that the water is safe for you and your family to use.

Water Quality (Biological)
We will take two water samples from the home. We follow the Florida Department of Health procedures for collecting water samples. We will test the first sample for hardness, pH, sulfate, Iron, tannins, & total dissolved solids (TDS). We will then have the second sample tested by the Health Department for coliform which is a micro biological indicator of harmful bacteria & pathogens.

We will test the first sample for hardness, pH, sulfate, & total dissolved solids (TDS). We will then have the remaining samples tested by the County Health Department for coliform which is a micro biological indicator of bacteria & harmful pathogens & nitrates, nitrites, and lead (chemical contaminates) which usually come from fertilizers & pesticides.

  1. I see your website has fresh articles monthly. That’s awesome.
Great tips, I’ll be back regularly!

  2. Thank you for your site post. Jones and I will be contacting you for your Water Quality Inspection.

  3. Drrr, never thought that the water out of the ground may have nasty stuff in it.
Had these folks come test it & sure enough, not good. Of course, they don’t do remediation, so no worries about some kind of conflict of interest. I had a well company treat the well, added some filtering equipment & I feel much safer now. But I will still have it tested annually bu Sherlock home inspections as per the Health Dept. recommendations.
